Club Guy & Roni collaborate with dance-makers who share a similar creative ethos to produce new pieces. This is part of the dance company’s mission to support and guide talent, and to present such talent to a larger audience. This double bill (two performances in one evening) focuses on choreographers Mohamed Yusuf Boss & the duo Anna Jacobs and Hanna van der Meer.

LABA - Mohamed Yusuf Boss
The dance performance LABA (Somali for ‘two’) is about the relationship between the individual and a country/home that does not officially exist, such as Somaliland. What does that do to someone? What do you identify with then? In a cultural landscape where more and more individualization and polarization is taking place, you can feel displaced far more easily. What echoes through if you can't go home?

In LABA, Yusuf Boss explores the subject of 'being at home' from the foundations of Hip-hop and the 'Haka' of the Maori. Both styles have a strong collective character. What connects these movements and what sets them apart?

Shadow Boxer - Lunatics & Poets
Lunatics & Poets connects different disciplines, initiating a diverse dialogue. Their most recent works include the film and theater installation South of No North and the performance I am a poem, there is no way out. In addition to the RIDCC 2018, the second piece also won the Golden Butterfly Award Dance Fest (2019) and the first prize at Festival10Sentidos Valencia (2020). The short film The Long Goodbye (2020) premiered at the Milano Fashion Film Festival in January 2021.

They currently work under the wing of Club Guy & Roni, with the Poetic Disasters Club. In the summer of 2021, they presented The People Look Like Flowers at Last in the NITE hotel. In July 2021 the new location work Hurry Slowly, but Hurry premiered at Over het IJ Festival in Amsterdam, as part of Het Atelier, the talent development track of Oerol and Over het IJ Festival.
