An exciting combination: the saxophone paired with the bassoon. Extroverted versus introverted, emotional versus contemplative, feeling versus reason – these are some impressions of this surprising musical union. The duo establishes their own voice whilst exploring the entire history of music.

Deborah Witteveen and Thomas Dulfer capture the zeitgeist in which millennials grow up. Their lives are determined by choice overload, performance pressure and the issues of today. The audience is part of the concert as they ponder these dilemmas with the artists. The jury reports: ‘With a tireless drive, these two musicians storm the stage. Two extremes that alternately challenge and complement each other. Their cheerful nature and swinging program is contagious.’

Dutch Classical Talent
The talent track of Dutch Classical Talent is a household name in the Dutch classical music world. Through auditions a jury of experts selects four top talents for the final round. The concerts have no intermission, but the audience has a chance to grab a drink and chat with the promising young artists after the show. The laureates of Dutch Classical Talent include many well-known names such as Tania Kross, Lavinia Meijer, Nora Fischer, Van Baerle Trio and the Berlage Saxophone Quartet.
