Beethoven’s Violin Concerto is legendary. Setting the standard for all the violin concertos that followed, no violinist can ignore it. The work proves that the composer, with his menacing gaze, was by no means always a hothead. In fact, you can hear Beethoven singing – it is not for nothing that he is known as the inventor of the ‘eternal melody’. Performed by top violinist Nemanja Radulovic.
Tchaikovsky was also a great melodic. With his typical Russian melancholy and his lavish orchestral palette, it is not difficult to understand why his symphonies are solitary at the top. He gave his best for the Fifth: music full of melancholy, looming fate, and impetuous folk dances.
