The Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, is regarded as the absolute cradle of rock 'n' roll. Under the inspiring leadership of Sam Philips, this small studio annex record label gained worldwide recognition. Sam often recorded artists that were boycotted outside of Memphis. He discovered BB King, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley, among others.

The dazzling production Sun Records - The Concert tells the story of the 'Memphis Recording Service' or: Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee. The Sun Studio is considered the absolute cradle of rock 'n' roll and contemporary music. Under the inspiring leadership of founder and owner Sam Philips, this small studio with record label gained worldwide fame and recognition. Sam didn't care about apartheid in America and was wild about the predominantly black ' rhythm & blues'. Seeking innovation in music, he often recorded artists who were boycotted by mainstream radio stations and record stores outside of Memphis. Philips persisted and helped to bring forth many of the greatest musical talents, including BB King, Howling Wolf, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Rufus Thomas, Roy Orbison , Jerry Lee Lewis and, last but not least, Elvis Presley.

Sun Records - The Concert brings the golden days of Sun Records back to life in the theatre. This authentic production is allowed to present itself as the only production in the world (!) with official permission from Sun Records, Memphis, Tennessee. A very talented and young cast plays the roles of all the great artists of Sun Records and performs their world hits with verve!
