Ron Adelaar
Minimal Sessions
For Ron Adelaar, improvisation is the purest form of making music. In his performance Reflections, he plays without a fixed structure or plan. He follows the moment — and his intuition. From the very first note, something entirely new begins to unfold, something that could only be created in that exact moment.
Ron’s musical journey began early. By the age of thirteen, he was already playing organ and piano in churches in his hometown of Amersfoort. It was there that he discovered his talent and deep love for improvisation. What started as experimentation gradually evolved into a unique style — intuitive compositions that transform emotions and experiences into sound.
His music often strikes an emotional chord. Drawing inspiration from his own life, the people around him, and the natural world, Ron creates pieces that speak without words. Each one tells a story — one the listener is free to interpret in their own way.
What exactly happens on stage is sometimes a mystery even to him. He trusts his inner compass and lets the music emerge on its own. That’s what makes every performance one-of-a-kind. No two evenings are ever the same.
In his theatre concerts, Ron Adelaar performs solo — just him and his piano, guided by the inspiration of the moment. The result is an intimate atmosphere where listeners feel closely connected to the music, as if given a rare glimpse into his thoughts — or the chance to listen in on his inner world.
